About her[]

Maria is the Guardian of Laughter. As her title applies, she loves to laugh or make others around her laugh. She is bubbly, high-spirited and adventurous. The only time she would ever be sad is when something happens to her family or friends. She always has a smile on her face and knows exactly how to cheer someone up no matter the conditions or circumstances. She never takes offence by her friends and manages to laugh at herself and her mistakes.

Her past[]

Maria is the third child and only girl of Giovanni and Adalina Romano, a pair of circus owners. She has two older twin brothers, Antonio and Alberto. Her family worked together as a circus and toured all through Europe, performing for all the crowned heads, including the family of Louis XVI, the future King of France. Each of the members of the family had a part to play. Her father was the ringmaster, her mother was a lion fighter and her brothers were sword eaters. Maria was a trapeze artist, tightrope walker and the most important job, was the clown. Thanks to her, her family's circus was internationally-known and was one of the most famous circus of the century. It appeared as though the circus would never ruin. But when she turned 16, her family ultimately went bankrupt due to reclining sales and almost had to sell the circus to help make ends meet. Maria managed to keep everyone's spirits up by making jokes and helping to rekindle her family's love for putting smiles on people's faces and the circus. They put on their best show yet and managed to save their circus and home.
